Centerville Approves Shovel-Ready Site as Setting for Amazon Distribution Center

In 2022, the Centerville City Council approved one of the city’s shovel-ready sites as the home of a new Amazon distribution site. The new workplace will include a warehouse, truck terminal, and office building between 20th and 21st Avenues.
Amazon Center Built on Shovel-Ready Site Creates Jobs
The employer is expected to bring in hundreds of jobs to the area with a tentative opening date of autumn 2023. According to a study, the center’s noise levels will not affect nearby homes. After one year in the new space, the city will analyze the noise. If it causes disturbances, Amazon will pay to have a sound barrier built.
